Knowing You Knowing Me - What is it about?
Southampton is proud of its image as a multi cultural
society, with 12 different faiths and 40 spoken languages,
many of those being newly arrived communities.
The purpose of this program is to overcome myths,
explaining cultural differences and to get know each
other well. This includes culture, food, traditions,
understanding human rights, and challenging negative
media coverage.
Unity 101 trained 48 young people from Cantell Maths
& Computing College in producing, broadcasting,
and hosting a discussion programme entitled "Knowing you
knowing me" which aims to create a more cohesive society.
Prior to going live in May the Liz Wagner, Claire May-Smith,
Harriet Phillips, and Claire Brooks from Cantell Maths &
Computing College Southampton, helped the 48 young people
in finding out about their cultures using a discussion
question template.
